Запись и микширование альбома проходили в шведской студии Abyss Studio под руководством Peter'а T?gtgren'а (Hypocrisy, Pain).
Авторство обложки принадлежит бельгийскому художнику Kris'у Verwimp'у, создавшему оформление дисков для более чем сотни металлических групп. Дракон, изображенный на обложке и на самом CD, создан Stefan'ом Danielsson'ом, рисовавшем также обложки для групп Puissance, Triumphator и др.
Трек "Anno Domini 1476" содержит отрывок из "Марша Легионеров" румынской Железной Гвардии.
Главный рифф трека "Nightwing" был адаптирован из саундтрека к фильму о вампирах "Подвиды" ("Subspecies") 1991 года, лирика также базируется на его сюжете.
Согласно буклету, альбом условно разделен на две части: "Dictionnaire Infernal" (треки с 1-го по 4-й) и "The Warlord Wallachia" (все остальные). Причем, треклист с буклетов оригинальных изданий не содержит трека "Nightwing".
Альбом был издан французским лейблом Osmose Productions в апреле 1998 года на CD (кат.# OPCD 064), 12" picture-виниле (кат.# OPPIC 064) и лимитированном виниле в gatefold-конверте (1500 копий, кат.# OPLP 064). В том же году альбом был издан на кассете по лицензии Osmose Productions в Польше лейблом Morbid Noizz (кат.# 257). В 2002 году альбом был издан по лицензии в России лейблом ФОНО на CD (кат.# FO133CD) и кассете (кат.# FO133MC).
В 2008 году шведский лейбл Blooddawn Productions переиздает "Nightwing" на CD с новым оформлением, в слипкейсе и с бонусным DVD "Blood Of The Saints" (кат.# BLOOD036). DVD содержит видеозапись с выступления Marduk в Роттердаме (Нидерланды) 5 апреля 1998 года:
