"Splendora"
"Splendora"
Splendora was an all female post-grunge/alternative rock band formed in New York, USA in the '90s.
The lineup consisted of Janet Wygal (vocals, guitar), Tricia Wygal (vocals, bass), Delissa Santos (drums), Cindy Brolsma (cello) and Jennifer Richardson (violin).
Their first and only album is titled In The Grass and was released by Koch Records in 1995.
In 1997 MTV’s producer Susie Lynn, found a copy of their CD on her desk and then asked them to produce some demos; out of the four, she chose "You're Standing On My Neck" as theme song for the animated television series "Daria".
The band later created original themes for the two Daria TV movies, "Turn the Sun Down" (for "Is It Fall Yet?") and "College Try (Gives Me Blisters)" (for "Is It College Yet?"), along with some background music.
