ZUNAME (actually the first band title was Via Zuname, Portugese “Go! Zuname”) was established in Moscow 97 by three Misfits inspired vagabonds: Yarik – Voc/Guit, Kostya – Voc/Bass, Dima – Drums. The band did its first show in 98, afterwards two LPs were released. The band was notable for using foreign languages in their songs – Spanish, Portuguese, German, English, but Russian.
The first success was achieved after the 15 minutes long LP “Zumaniod” (2001). Track “Aufwiedersehen Moscow” became a hymn of Russian punk-rockers. Zuname did shows on one stage with Eastern-European punk and ska legends – JMKE and Dr.Green. Inspired by the success the band records new LP called “Este Tiempo” (2004), which so far is rated as a Russian street-punk classics.
New album has incredible powerful sound, top-rated songs such as Fernando Hierro, La Music De Punk, Antisocial mark the band as Russian Rancid. Dmitry Spirin, leader of Moscow top punk-band Tarakany! joins Zuname as a second guitar player, the band does shows with Hausvabot (GER), Out Cold (USA), Scream of The President (JAP), Mean Idols (FIN). New record “The Wave Zuname” (2008) released. It differs from the previous ones that its 100% in Russian.
New guitarist Vanidos (Best Enemy, Give`em The Gun) takes place of Dmitry Spirin. Besides that, the piper joins Zuname to gain absolutely new sound of the band, more alike celtic-punk. Band releases two EPs in in period from 2010 -2012.
In 2012 new full length album will be released.
